Hey Family!!
This week was a busy and awesome week. We worked really hard
this week, and that was good. The Lord blessed us with some awesome
miracles this week, and I really enjoyed that. It’s amazing what the Lord
can do. It’s great to be on a mission and just to serve the Lord
24/7. He blesses you a lot, and it’s amazing to see it. We
are working hard together, and I love my companion a lot. He is a great
blessing to have along.
This week we just tore it up. We just gave it to the
Lord and just went to work. It was kind of the boost I needed. I
love this area and the people here in ABQ. It’s an amazing place, and
it’s so much fun. We found a super awesome family this week - Alfonso
Morales and his wife. We found him while we were contacting one
night. He was outside doing something to his truck, and we went up and
talked to him. We had a nice chat with him, and he invited us back.
We tried to get in contact with him during the week and didn't have much
success with that. We decided to go contacting around his trailer park
again, and we ran into him cleaning up his yard. He told us to hold on,
and then he finished up his yard. He told us to come inside with him, and
then from there we taught him and his wife. It was an amazing lesson, and
they told us they are trying to find the right church. He told us he knew
the Catholics weren't right or the Christian churches because they were all
hypocrites. He told us he wanted to know what was right. It was the
first time that someone told me that. We taught him the Restoration and
then asked if we could come back. He said yes and told us that he was
very impressed by our message and us. It was a miracle that the Lord
worked, and he and his wife are awesome people. We didn’t have anyone at
church this week, and that was kind of a bummer. We haven't seen Jamyll
in a while because his dad has been gone. Hopefully we will get in touch
with him soon. We had a good lesson with Ramon (drunk guy and party
man) this week. He told us on Wednesday that his real name is
Juan. I don't know if he didn't want to tell us his real name at first,
but he is a stud. He received our message well. I like him a
lot.
I had a pretty funny story this week that happened to
me. It’s pretty funny to me. On Sunday we went over to a member’s
home for dinner, and that was awesome. It’s kind of an awkward
family. The dad came out and greeted us for a minute and then went out
into the backroom. His wife isn't a member and is super against the
church. She works in Mexico and is never home, so we didn't see
her. His less-active daughter came out after he took off, and she is like
16. My companion had to go the bathroom and asked her if he could use
it. She said yes, of course, and so he took off. So it was me and
this girl at the dinner table, and it was just super awkward. The food
was right in front of us, and I was just waiting for my companion to come back,
and we would figure out the food. She then says, "Are you just going
to stare at it or do I need to help you and serve it for you?", in a
sarcastic manner. I was like “oh no” in my head, and I immediately
blurted out, "I can handle it, thank you!" I hurried and
scooped some food up, and then it was just awkward. I was praying for my companion to get
back. I was trying to get to know her, and she was trying to get to know
me. I was in the spot where you are asking questions at the same time as
each other. It was like a battle in the ring, and you’re trying to hang
on till the bell rings. My companion final came out, and I was so
relived. It was so awkward. I don't know if the mission is making
me weird or I just can't talk to girls. It ended up being a pretty good dinner
but it started off kind of shaky. General Conference I thought was good,
and I enjoyed it. Maybe it was just me, but I felt like it had a
different feel to it this time. I really enjoyed Elder Cook’s talk about
decisions during the priesthood session. I thought that was a quality
talk. Oh, Aaron Gallegos is back at his house. I guess his mom
welcomed him home and everything is good with him. I think that's my week
for you in a nutshell.
It sounds like everything is going good at
home. I love the sports updates. I
look forward to hearing about Tyler, the Giants, and the Packers. I am
happy all 3 of them are kicking butt right now. It sounds like everyone
else is in one piece. I am happy to hear that dad had an awesome birthday,
and Dad if you want to come to ABQ next year to see the Aggies play the Lobos
count me in, but I am warning you that I might be cheering for my Lobos.
I would love to do that with you Dad. This city is beautiful. You guys might not think it is, but I
do. It’s just unique, and that's why I like it. I hope you guys
have an awesome week, and you are al
