Hey Family!!

It feels good to sit down and email you today.  This week was pretty long because we pretty much were on bikes all week, and it was hard.  We were probably biking at least 15 miles a day, and it was rough, but what can we do?  We should be getting our car back soon.  We talked to the mission office yesterday, and they said either by the end of the week or first of next week.  I am excited to get our car back.  Biking a huge area stinks, to say the least.  It’s taking a toll on me, and every morning I can’t stay awake during personal study.  It’s making me really mad.  I fall asleep, and I just don't know how to get more energy in me.  I have started working out and everything, but that doesn't seem to help.  I just don't know what to do.  It’s also making my back hurt some days really bad, but it’s all good.  I don't want to complain because the Lord took away our truck for a reason.  It has felt good to bike, and I am enjoying the workout every day.  I have gotten really tan, so that is awesome.  Overall this week was really good, and I enjoyed it.

I am happy you got my package.  I was very nervous about it.  I hope nothing broke from it, and it’s all in one piece.  I am happy you got the blue from Breaking Bad.  I hope you enjoyed it.  I got myself a shirt, and it’s rad.  Sorry there wasn't a letter in the package.  I had to hurry and send it off because the Post Office was closing.  Old Town was epic and super fun.  There are a ton of neat shops and it just has a cool feel to it.  Breaking Bad stuff is all over Old Town, and it’s pretty awesome.  There was a store solely with Christmas stuff.  It was called the Christmas Shop.  We started to walk in, and I was like, “Why are we going here?”  I was just looking around, and there was this section that had only nativity sets.  I saw that one, and I bought it and sent it home.  I hope you guys enjoy it.  I know mom loves her nativity sets, and she now has one from all our missions.  I hope it was good one and it worked.  I was nervous that it was going to break while it was being shipped, so I hope it’s all still in one piece.  I got myself a shirt and a dream catcher.  They had a cool Navajo shop, and I bought myself a small dream catcher.  Old Town was epic, and we will have to go there someday.

Our investigators are doing well.  Jamyll is progressing, and he enjoys it.  We had a super awesome lesson about the Gospel of Jesus Christ with him, and his dad bore a great testimony.  He is very shaky on baptism, and he wants to learn more before we baptize him or set a date with him.  I am hoping his heart changes over the coming week, and he knows that baptism is true.  He is an awesome kid, and his dad is an amazing person as well.  Griselda is progressing, but it’s a slow progress.  She is praying now, which is an improvement, but not about baptism.  We can't figure her out, and she just won’t pray about baptism.  Hopefully things progress in the coming weeks.  She is awesome, but she just needs to pray.  We have been struggling lately finding new investigators, and that has stunk.  We have a lot of potentials lined up this week, so hopefully they turn into new investigators.  We need some new ones because a lot of the investigators we have right now have been investigating for a while.  So it would be good to start fresh again.  We had a super cool miracle happen to us this week on the bus.  We went to go see a member named Aaron Gallegos.  I think I mentioned about him in my last email.  He is like 23, already has 2 kids, and he his barely getting by.  He turfed it on his bike and cut up himself really badly.  Well, we felt like we needed to see him one day.  We rode the bus, got off at one of the stops, and biked it up to his house.  We got there and talked to his sister.  She told us that he had been kicked out by the mom, and the mom also got a restraining order on him.  She also took away his phone because it was hers.  We left just wondering what happened and how we would get in contact with him.  We went on with our day, and we felt like we needed to take the 3:51 bus home for some reason.  We got on, and lo and behold there he was sitting on the bus.  He was getting off soon, so we gave him our number.  He told us he would call us, and that was it.  He hasn't called us yet nor do we know what happened, but I know he will come around and call us one of these days.  It showed me that God works in mysterious ways, but his ways are always the best.  When you listen to his council through the spirit, life is great, and he does great things.

That was my week in a nutshell for you.  That's awesome Tyler is tearing it up at Oly.  He is going to be a stud his senior year.  I've been working out for you Tyler so I don't look like a piece of poop when I get home.  Keep working hard dude, and the Lord will help you out.  Good luck dad with the running thing this week.  You will do great, and I will be waiting for you at Camp Hunt with a vanilla ice cream for ya!  I miss you guys, and I hope you guys have a great week!  You are always in my prayers!  Love you tons!

Con Amor,

-Elder Smith
