Buenos Dias Mi Familia,
It sounds like things are doing all good on the home front.
I am bummed that I am not going to Sun Valley and Portland with you guys.
That sounds like a blast and it is going to be so much fun up there. The
new bishop Kelly sounds awesome and he will do amazing things for the
ward. I am happy Mitch is in it too. He will be a stud in that
position. I am happy Coop Dog gave an awesome talk. I knew he
would. He is such a stud and going to be an amazing missionary out there.
Give him a hug for me before he leaves, please and give him my love. I
truly love that guy and he is a stud. We have been writing a lot.
He has been keeping me in touch with everything and we talk about the
mission. He told me he was going to give his talk this week and I wish I
was there. Nice job on the lesson mom, I knew you would deliver something
amazing like you always do. You give the best lessons and the Relief
Society is blessed to have you in there. That is awesome that Mrs. Ross
called you. She is an amazing lady and that was nice of her to say my
talk was good. I didn't think it was that great. You'll have to
give her my address in the field because I don’t think it would get her in time
before I take off to Nueva México. I wish I was in Myrtle Beach chilling
on the sand. That is great she is now there.
Not much happened here this week, just the same routine. We
are wrapping things up in my classes and we are down to the final days in
the MTC. I think I have never hated eating so much in my life.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are the times of the day I hate most. The
only good part of it is getting mail. The food here is so gross and I
just can't eat it anymore. It so bad for you and there is nothing good
that comes out of it. It is straight crap, and I wouldn't be surprised if
in the kitchen they just take dumps on the plates and spray paint it with
colors and hand it to you. Ahhhhhhh it’s nasty. It will be the best
surprise when I get to sit down in New Mexico and have my first meal. I
hope it’s pretty dang good Mexican food. When older people here at the
MTC ask us where we are going we tell them New Mexico and all the say is we’re
going to get some great Mexican Food. They don’t talk about anything else
but that. So I am excited. When I was getting my immunizations
checked out, the lady that was helping me ask where I was going, and I told her
New Mexico. She then told me that she lived there for a while and had
amazing food there and at McDonald’s they ask you if you want green chiles on
your burger, so I couldn't be more excited for that. That place is going
to become my little slice of heaven. I can’t wait to teach people and
change their lives. I can’t wait to roam the desert in the blazing heat
trying to find Walter White and his gang selling some blue. That place is
going to be the best, and I could not care less that I am going
stateside. That’s where the Lord wants me, and he needs me there.
Oh congrats on the anniversary!!!!! 31 years - that is pretty
awesome and you guys aren't getting old. You'll always be young and full
of life. I miss you guys tons. This week like I said there wasn’t
much that happened. The only really exciting thing that happened was I
got my flight plans. So I leave on Monday at 5:30 am from the MTC to
the airport. So I should get there around 7ish or something like
that. I don’t know how long it will take me to check in and stuff.
I am flying on Delta flight 4462 to ABQ. My plan takes off at 9:52 so I
am guessing I might have an hour to talk to your or something. My plane
arrives at 11:36 in ABQ. It’s only an hour and a half flight which will
be nice and enjoyable. I am happy I am not flying all day somewhere in
the world. I have a few questions for the airport. So I have to pay
$60 for my bag fees. I think it’s also another $80 if my bags are
overweight, and I remember they were when we weighed them at home. Should
I put some of the stuff I have in the suitcases of the guys in my room or just
pay the fees? I know I have that money that you gave me, is there also
money on my card? I have no clue what to do and I am kind of stressing
cuz they are overweight. I also don’t have my passport. Do I need
it or am I good? I forgot to grab it before I left home. I also am
almost out of laundry soap so should I just wait till I get to New Mexico and
buy some or do you want to send me some? I know you’re leaving so I don’t want
to stress you out. Also should I get more Zout in New Mexico? I am
almost out as well. But ya, we are really doing it Har. We are just
about there to the end of my MTC experience and it has been one heck of a ride. It’s
so good to be almost done with it. I hope my trainer is good and I am in
a good area. Oh, when I hosted this week I didn't see anyone, and I still
haven't seen Michael D. We were also selected to host this week as well,
so I hope on my life I host Jake VanB. He told me he is coming in at
2:00, so if you see him tell him I will be out there waiting for him.
Tell him I am usually at the front of the whole line, and I can’t wait to see
him.
Class is the same and no crazy subs, except our air conditioning
has been out in our classroom, so on Sunday we had 5 fans going. It was
pretty awesome. Oh also I forget to tell you that we haven't been going
to the temple for like 3 weeks cuz it’s been closed for cleaning. So that
sucks major. We have had the most chilled p-days, and it’s a bummer that
it’s closed cuz it gave you something to do on that day. But
hopefully when I get to New Mexico I get to go to the temple. Today I am
going to get my hair shaved so wish me luck. They told me I had to get
one before I leave. Hopefully my head doesn’t go in some guy’s crotch
like what happened to Sean. It’s going to be an adventure, and I will
have a lot to tell you about next week. Oh ya if you are going to write
me on dear Elder this week do it before Thursday because it takes a day to get
to me, and they are closed on Saturdays. If not just email me, and I’ll
get back to you. If you don’t hear from me next week, I am probably still
alive. I don’t know how crazy next week will be so don't worry.
Give the Beary a scratch for me. Tell my friends hello and I miss them
tons. That’s awesome Taylor and Tessa stopped by. They are awesome
girls. Sean and Andrea, you guys are in for a treat with Carly and
Ashlyn. That will be a fun time. They are way fun to be
around. Wendy, good luck at girls camp and everything and going to
Atlanta. Scott, take care of Beary for me and get the FIFA world cup game
when it comes out for me. Thanks for all the letters and stuff you guys are
great. Tyler McFly, keep it steezy for me and continue to be a
stud. That’s awesome you got a hat for being the hustler on the lacrosse
field at camp. Just keep doing what you do out there. I can’t wait
to hear about football and stuff. You’re going to be a stud out
there. I am going to try to write you this week so check your email or
the mail. Keep it real! Have so much fun in Portland and Sun
Valley. Catch a duck for me or go to the candy shop where me and Tyler
would always go. That place was the best. Also go bowling for
me. That bowling alley is the best and so awesome. Swim at the
round pool for me. Give John Mayer a high five for me. I wish I was
going. Tyler, is there any good music out these days? Well, you'll hear
from me on Monday in person. Expect a call kind of early in the
morning. Oh did you get the phone card? Keep it steezy at home for me and
keep spreading the Stinny D Light Love. I love you guys more than anything
and you’ll hear my voice shortly! Have a good week!
Con Mucho Amor!
Elder Weston Smith
Ruth, thanks for sharing Weston's letters with us! We love reading them and it is so fun to hear what he's up to and how he's doing! Thanks!!
